Dr. Terry Daugherty

TerryWith 25 years’ experience running high quality, multi-million dollar orthodontic practices in the Dallas area, Terry Daugherty is one of the country’s leading experts in successfully growing practices. No one in the consulting industry has been as hands-on as Terry. His “in the trenches” approach makes him a highly sought-after speaker and writer on practice marketing and success strategies. A nationally-known practice development expert, Terry specializes in helping his peers create masterful practices through leadership, team development, and profitable marketing programs.

In 2004, he co-founded Daugherty Consulting with his brother, Dave. Today, Terry conducts retreats, mastermind-style groups, and one-on-one consultations concerning practice growth, productivity, and profitability. Terry’s specialty is Productive Practice Development; he knows from experience that any practice can grow exponentially by building successful teams and creating highly-effective marketing programs. That’s why Terry focuses on both the relational side of the practice (the staff and their needs), as well as the business side (the practice and its needs). He also stresses the importance of creating a vision for the practice, because without one, no program will accomplish optimum results.

Terry views himself as a partner in his clients’ success, not merely a consultant who comes into the practice, throws some tools in the doctor’s lap, and leaves. Because a number of different factors can affect a practice’s excellence, and one set of strategies doesn’t fit every practice, Terry tailors strategies to each practice’s individual strengths and needs.

Terry is a full time speaker, author, practice coach, and consultant. He has been selected from a nationwide search to be featured in Speaking of Success, with best-selling authors Stephen R. Covey (Seven Habits), Ken Blanchard (One Minute Manager) and Jack Canfield (Chicken Soup for the Soul).  He is also the author of numerous articles on the mindset of super-successful orthodontists, including “The Marketing Cookbook,” “The Language of Orthodontics”, and “The Masters of Orthodontics.” He also published a series of articles in the acclaimed international publication, Practical Reviews in Orthodontics.

Terry holds dental and orthodontic degrees from the University of Missouri-Kansas City, and for a time was an Associate Professor in Baylor University’s Orthodontic Department. Dr. Daugherty has been a member of numerous orthodontic organizations, including American Association of Orthodontics, Southwest Society of Orthodontics, Schulman Super Orthodontic Group, and many other excellence-oriented groups.

Dave Daugherty

DaveDave Daugherty ignites your people with passion, purpose and power!  A dynamic speaker and seminar leader he will power up your practice and create harmony for you and your staff.  He has been a successful business executive and entrepreneur for more than 25 years.  Dave has coached and consulted high-end orthodontic practices for 15 years. As an organizational consultant and executive coach to clients nationwide, he specializes in leadership and team development, behavior awareness, transitional dynamics, and accelerated personal performance.  He energizes the relationships and simplifies the communications between everyone in the practice.

Dave graduated from Florida State University with a degree in accounting (finance) and worked in management for 12 years in the energy industry. He first discovered his executive coaching skills when the energy company he worked for was sold, and he had the opportunity to coach transitioning senior executives who were leaving the company.

Dave realized he had expertise and insight into the inner drives of people in business and team dynamics, so, even though he was completely unknown in the industry, he decided to open his own consulting practice. Rather than an industry-specific focus, Dave’s consulting and coaching have focused on the behavioral and developmental aspects of executives and their management teams to produce exceptional results. The business thrived for 18 years, as Dave worked with Fortune 10 to Fortune 1000 companies in a whole array of industries from energy to healthcare to non-profits to financial institutions. Today, he translates his corporate coaching skills and best practices to helping orthodontic and medical practices succeed.

As an executive coach to senior executives, physicians and their staff, Dave’s style is incisive, enthusiastic and inspiring.
